How Our classmates have spent the past 50 Years
Lawrence Anderson

In the 60's while working at various jobs in the Bay Area, I attended San Jose City College, AA Degree
Art 1965. Transferring to San Jose State that Fall, received a Masters in 1969'w/ emphasis in Ceramics
and Glass Art. Married Carol A. Lincoln in 1970. Taught ceramics @ S.J.S. / Clay and Glass @
College of San Mateo / And, for the next 37 years, built up the New Ceramic and Glass program @
California State University, Fresno, CA.
My wonderful wife, Carol, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, practicing in Fresno, CA.
We have three children and eight grand children. We're all practicing Mormons, which keeps us very
busy most of the time.
I reached the highlight of my Educational Career in 1998 by attending the Glass Art Society
Conference in Seto, Japan. Since 2008', I am a retired Art Professor Emeritus of CSU Fresno.

Kay writes, "50 years is a lot of information
so I will try to condense. I married my high
school sweetheart Gary Jenkinson, however,
unfortunately it did not last. Alas after 2 more
failed attempts I have been single now for over
20 years. I do have two wonderful children, and
six grandchildren. I managed to move around a
bit and have calculated that over the past 50
years I averaged about 6 years in one place counting
the states only. North and South California; Las
Vegas, Nevada; Tacoma, Washington; Boise, Idaho;
back to So California. My vocation varied about
as much as my moves, from dental assisting to
accounting to software development to database
administration. My hobbies have never changed
I continue to enjoy sewing and have taken up quilting.
I have retired to Texas to be near one of my children and 3 of my grandchildren. My older sister lives here as well. I love having a sewing room!!!! Woo Hooo and time to sew. You can visit my store and see some of my creations at www.nanasquiltsnstuff.etsy.com"

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say hello to all my classmates. Greetings from Morristown, New Jersey. It is so difficult to realize that it has been 50 years since we graduated from high school. Over those 50 years, so many things have happened!
For me, I went to UC - Berkeley, and then
ended up in Salt Lake City, where I graduated with
a degree in Economics. After about a year working
for the University of Utah, I went to Sandia in
Albuquerque, NM, followed by a stint at the Redstone
Arsenal in Alabama, and then to Bell Laboratories
in New Jersey. The Bell System (Bell Labs, AT&T and Bellcore,) was my work home until 1991. I also completed my MBA while working for the Bell System. After 1991, I worked for the World Trade Centers Association in NYC doing international video conferencing. I now work part time for 2 non-profits in my hometown – loving
the short commute!!!
My husband, Rich Eastman, has two daughters and one son and we have six grandchildren. We have been very lucky to have travelled to many places all over the USA including Alaska and Hawaii, and have been on several trips to various European countries and to South Africa, which included both business and safaris. We are also very busy with volunteer work in support of the families of deployed service members.
I look forward to seeing you at the reunion on October
1, and send best wishes to everyone who can’t attend.

I'm now retired and

When I left Campbell High, I enlisted in the
U.S. Navy in which I was an aviation mechanic. Upon
the completion of my four year enlistment, I entered
San Diego State University and majored in English. Upon
completion of that degree, I taught 6th, 7th and
8th grade social studies. Then, the acting
bug bit me and for the last 35 years I have performed
half way around the world, primarily singing in
musicals. I will be performing in New Philadelphia,
OH this summer doing the lead role in TRUMPET
IN THE LAND, for anyone that happens to be in
the area in NE Ohio. My career took me from
San Diego, CA to New York, NY. From there
I performed all over the United States and throughout
Europe. I am married and have a son,who
lives in Utah with his wife and seven children. My
passions are singing professionally and playing
golf...non-professionally.

My parents celebrated my graduation by divorcing. I left the broken nest and attended Claremont Men's College. Then I was a Naval Officer for 6 yrs 10 months 29 days. During the last 3 years in the Navy I attended night law school at U of San Diego. Then I practiced general law in Vista, CA for 25 years in the same chair, same office with same partner. In 1998 I was appointed Superior Court judge in San Diego County. For 12 of 15 years as judge I specialized in trials of contested Probate matters (estates & trusts).
I met my wife Anne while attending Naval Officers Candidate School in Rhode Island. We married and had two children, Kevin and Kendra. Kevin passed away in 2005. Kendra has been a nurse for 22 years and has recently completed certification as a nurse practitioner. She has two daughters and lives in New Hampshire. They are the magnets that drew us to Maine 3 years ago when I retired.
Anne and I have traveled to Great Britain 3 times, including a detour to Brussels and Germany. During travels we stayed in over 62 B&Bs and Inns in 5 countries and about 30 states.
I played soccer as an adult until age 46 playing in about 435 games total. We beat the Tijuana Police Dept. team. One tournament of old fogies took place in Barcelona. We lost to a team that was from a town 20 miles from my home in So. Cal.

I've now been retired for almost 6 years from an airline career of nearly 39 years. I worked as a Customer Service Agent at San Jose Airport for 11 years (1966 to 1977) then transfered to San Francisco Airport where I was also in Customer Service until I retired in 2005. I've never been married and don't have any children but I have done extensive traveling all around the globe. I've been fortunate enough to have traveled multiplel times to every continent with the exception of Antarctica. Now that I am retired I have the time to travel even more than I used to. Some of my favorite places to visit are the Hawaiian Islands, South Africa, Egypt, Italy, Germany and too many more to mention
.

With my wonderful wife of 35 years Bea, we now live
in Lebanon, Indiana just 30 minutes northwest of Indianapolis. We
moved here in 1997 from San Jose to be closer to her
daughter, Liz. We live out in the country on
40 rolling acres.
I graduated from San Jose State
in 1967 and joined my dad's accounting firm. In
1966, my first wife, Peggy and I had our son Kirk who
still leaves in Saratoga and works at Remodel West. In
1972, I bought a fast food chain in the Bay Area called
Dairy Belle Freeze which my partner and I ran for the
next 28 years.
After a divorce, I married
my wife Bea in 1976. Bea had 3 children from
her prior marriage. I had always wished to have
4 children, I just had not imagined to have them this
way.
At the present time, Bea and I own
a cleaning business in the Indianapolis area which
we started in 2003. We are very fortunate because
we work 3 weeks and then take a week off which is usually
spent traveling. Most of Bea's family is in New
York and most of mine is in Californian and Arizona
with our daughter Carolyn living in Adelaide, South
Australia.
Life has been very good to
us and I feel extremely fortunate to be
blessed with a wonderful wife, children, family and
friends.

way to travel, and that I did. After returning home,
taught school once again, then got into outside sales,
married a man who I met in the jewelry business,
which was what I was in sales with. After living
in San Francisco, we lived in Marin County, hosted
32 foreign students in our home who were learning
English. Loved that! Proceeded to get a Masters
in Educ. Administration, then one in Career Development,
taking me to a career in the career field and to
teaching at Notre Dame in Belmont, then to working
as a counselor at College of Marin. From there I
moved to the San Francisco Theological Seminary where
I worked for 8 years. Now, I am living in Oregon,
having moved here in 2004. I brought my sweet mother
up here and she passed away in 2006. I am trying
to decide what to do next in my life. Is anyone else
trying to figure that out? My brother, Jack, (class

From 1961 to '64, I attended SJCC and worked as a cook. Married my beautiful wife, Sally, in '64 and we are still happily married today. 1965, I went to work as a carpenter and our first son was born. A daughter and another son followed. We moved from San Jose to Morgan Hill in '73 and in '75, my wife and I started our construction company building custom homes. For the next twenty years, we employed anywhere from 5 to 60 union carpenters building quality custom homes in the Bay Area. While living in Morgan Hill, we became very active in the youth football program supporting our sons athletic abilities. We were very actively involved in football from the time they were eight until the youngest son retired at thirty. In '92, we purchased a 38 acre ranch in Grass Valley and moved to what the locals call "God's Country" and in '95 I retired. Since then, we have planted and sold Christmas trees, traveled a lot, and planted and sold gladiolas at the local Farmers' markets.
Now, we stay quite
busy maintaining our ranch, a 57 year old
remodeled ranch house, and 1 1/2 acres
of landscaping. We grow a hugh vegetable
garden every year and share a great portion
of it with the local food bank. We both
love being outside enjoying where we live
and what we have accomplished. And yes,
we now say that we live in "God's Country". We
have coffee outside in the morning and
wine out there in the evening. What
a teriffic ride.
As I reflect back to my childhood growing
up in Campbell, I realize, now, how fortunate
I was to have lived in such an unspoiled
area. If
our parents were the Greatest Generation,
then I think our generation was the Luckiest
Generation. We benefited from our parents
struggles and sacrifices. There were
unlimited opportunities with limited risk. Generations
to come will not have the same advantages
that we were able to enjoy. I think I have
been blessed.
Thank you, Aldene, for all of your time and
effort that you have put into this website.
You're
so welcome, LeRoy. It'struly a labor of
love! ~ Aldene

Since 1991 I've had my own business (now called A Successful Career), and since 1993 I've focused on resume writing and career coaching, which I do from a fully equipped home office. My main business website is www.ablueribbonresume.com.
In June 2015 I drove myself, my son Brad, our two small dogs, and a car full of our belongings from California to our new home in Marlborough, MA. That was REALLY a trip! The move was mainly to be closer to my sister Donna (Class of '63), who lives in New Hampshire but also has a place in MA.
I'm not crazy about cold weather, but I love New England scenery, history, etc., so I'm happy here.

I live in East San Jose and go to Church at Alum Rock Christian Church. I attended San Jose City College for 1 1/2 years after graduating from Campbell High in 1961. In 1963 I decided that was too much school and I joined the Navy. While in the Navy I was stationed on two Air Craft Carriers. On the first carrier we picked up some Astronauts. On the second carrier we went to Viet Nam (bummer). But, I did get to sail around the world. After the Navy I went to work for General Electric for 19 years until the plant was shut down. I met my wife Nita there. Then worked 20 years for the County of Santa Clara and retired in 2008. Since I retired we have gone on three cruises and have been touring America.

of family and friends.
Merv was born on July 20, 1943 in Campbell,

He was the youngest of 7 children and a
twin. Merv was proud of the fact that his
father Leon served in the U.S. Army as a
linesman for the Signal Corp in France during
WWI and was awarded the Croix de Guerre
medal. Later his father used what he learned
in the Signal Corp to support his large
family as an electrician.
After graduating Campbell High School
in 1961, he attended San Jose City College.
Merv then embarked on what would become
a life-long career at Hewlett-Packard. He
began in the packaging department in Palo

He had the privilege of meeting both Mr.
Hewlett and Mr. Packard. He took an early
retirement in 1986 to start a window business
in Watsonville, CA. He then returned to
HP in 1994 at Roseville, CA until his second

1960s – Three years working for the US Post Office while attending San Jose State followed by one year illustrating then managing production of children's readers for McGraw Hill and getting married to Emela Ginden (Campbell class of '61). The last third of the 60's I spent working as art director with a TV production company developing pilot programs (those late 60s were a wild few years and even more so in the entertainment industry).
1970s – Got divorced, spent a week in the hospital recovering from exhaustion (caused by working in the entertainment industry), and became an employee of Cartridge Television, as Art Director and Director of New Program Development, working with ABC Sports, NFL films, and Columbia Pictures (I just couldn't stay away from the entertainment industry). This was followed by a year working for a small public relations firm, still in the entertainment industry, handling Shelter Records.
From 1975 until late 1978 I was Creative Director and co-owner of "McLaren Steinhauer Advertising," with three principle owners plus 10 employees, and handling clients such as ABC Records (more entertainment industry), Fairchild, Intel, National Semiconductor and various other "Silicon Valley" companies. In 1979 I spent another stint in the hospital for exhaustion which, finally, brought an end to my working in the entertainment industry!
1980s – From 1979 through 1986 I worked as Art Director on, Night's Ltd., a women's fashion catalog.
1985-to present – In 1985 I started working with Linda Cody as the Creative half of McCody Graphics. We have performed as the external art department for Carter Elliott Public Relations & Advertising (specializing in companies serving the equipment side of the television industry) and Sterling Communications (a Public Relations and Advertising firm). For the past 26 years as McCody Graphics our major clients have been Sony (Computer Monitor, and Optical Drives divisions), SEMI (the organization setting the computer chip engineering standards), SanDisk, and Symantec, as well as many smaller firms involved in the computer market place.

After graduation I attended San Jose
State for one semester and then enlisted
in the Air Force. Entered the electronics
field as a radio maintenance technician
serving at a radar site in the Mojave
Desert and then overseas in Korea. Returned
in 1966 to Cannon AFB New Mexico where

night school to qualify for an Air Force
in-service education program and was assigned
to University of Arizona graduating in
1969 with a BS in Industrial Management. Then
on to Officer Training School at Lackland
AFB where I was commissioned and immediately
assigned to Williams AFB Arizona for pilot
training.
My flying career began in KC-135 Aerial
Tankers serving three tours in Southeast
Asia during the Viet Nam war. After
the war I was assigned back to Williams
AFB as a T-38 Instructor training new
pilots. In 1978 I transitioned into

After graduation day in June of 1961, I didn't
take much time hanging around Campbell. Monday
morning I was off to "Boot Camp" in
San Diego followed by Submarine School in
New London, Conn. By November 61' I was cruising
the North Atlantic off Russia, 500 feet underwater,
on the SSBN Patrick Henry, one of the first
nuclear powered Polaris subs. Today its hard
for me to see this 18-year-old kid at the helm
of a mammoth war machine, but my initial life
into manhood was good and adventurous to say
the least! - I found out that the only thing
wrong with submarines was I was seeing the world
through a periscope!!, but no complaints as I
loved my tour of duty in the Navy. Being a water
rat since high school (I was taught well by Coach
Leonard Scroggins) I went to Navy Dive School

better when I was transferred to a WWII submarine,

We live in Eagle River, Alaska and this has been our home for the past 33 years. My husband is a retired civil engineer with his last job being on the Alaska Pipeline. We have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. Our son lives in New Hampshire and our daughter and family live in Texas, so we know a lot about those two states. We have been married for 46 years and have only lived in Ca. and Alaska. I still have family in Calif., as does my husband. We go there once in a while and we also get to do some traveling around.
I spent many years with the kids school PTA but now with the kids all grown up I spend most of my time being a homemaker.
Life in Alaska has offered me to be involved in a nonprofit organization: once it was Extension Homemakers and now it is Family, Community and Education. We still call it Homemakers, because that is what we are. Right now I am our Homemakers District President (going on 4 years because they will not vote someone else to do my job) and I am the State Vice President. I've been State President 3 times and have held all of the offices for State and District. Our main program is "Raise A Reader". We give a book and information to all new born babies in the entire state!
I am really into organization of everything but still have time to sew, scrapbook and play around with painting our beautiful mountains on canvas.
I really do enjoy staying in contact with
the great people that attended Campbell High. Email me
if any of you come to Alaska.
Hope to
see a lot of you at the Oct. reunion!

John writes, "I left Campbell in Oct 1960. actually graduated from University High School at Southern Illinois University. I escaped Illinois and made it back to Campbell for the Class of '61 graduation where I sat high in the bleaches and cheered you all on (with a little help from a cool jug of screwdrivers). Then Dave Leefeldt and I joined the Navy, I served twenty, Dave, not so much. While in the Navy I made nine Deterrent Patrols on FBM Submarines. Twenty years in weapons system electronics pretty well limits a guys opportunities after retirement so I remained in the electronics field after Navy retirement. Now I'm really retired and kickin' back, I spend most of my time playing internet poker. I would dearly love to make the 5oth reunion, but I doubt that will be possible...........J.R"

I went to school at the University of the
Pacific, Stockton, CA, and graduated (1966)
with a BS in Pharmacy. Worked briefly
in retail pharmacy. The first part of
my career was with Sandoz Pharmaceuticals,
then 20+ years working for the Food and
Drug Administration, involved with approving
prescription drugs. During this time I was
a commissioned officer in the U.S. Public
Health Service (think Dr. C. Everett Koop)
and retired as a Captain (O-6). Following
retirement from the FDA, I worked for Sankyo
Pharamceuticals (Japanase) in NYC and Edison,
NJ for 5 years. Then
retired to the Myrtle Beach (Murrells Inlet),
SC.
I am still married to my
wonderful wife, Betty, (42 years and counting). Raised
a daughter (Julie), who currently resides
in Chappaqua, NY and has 3 young children,
and a son (David), who currently lives
with us working on a second degree.
Now that we are retired,
I spend my time playing golf, fishing,
and working in the yard. We have a motor
home and have traveled around our wonderful
country extensively.

Here is a quick look at my life since Campbell
High. After attending Westmont College in Santa
Barbara and graduating from San Jose State,
I taught school in the Oak Grove School District
in San Jose for 30+ years. I lived in Saratoga
for 5 years, then moved to Los Gatos, then Monte
Sereno where I live now, just five miles from
Campbell High.
In 1999 during the dot com 'bubble' I became
fascinated by learning HTML that produces websites
that can be seen by the world, so I decided
to opt out of teaching to become a web designer.
I attended West Valley Community College where
I obtained a degree in digital media. I established
a small (one-person) company, Nicerpage
Web Design. This Campbell 61 website was
one of my early projects.
I have one daughter who lives nearby; her husband
is a world
musician. My husband is a corrosion
engineer who grew up in New York and attended
school in Pittsburgh: CMU,
for which he recruits students. He also plays
timpani in the Saratoga
Symphony and he is president ("for life")
of our bicycle
racing club.

I currently live in southeastern Arizona
with my husband of 43 years. My 2 daughters
and my 93 year old mother also live here.
After high school I moved to Southern California
and went to nursing school. Did that until
my children were born in 1971 and 1973
and then quit nursing and went into retail.
(Hours were better). Did that for 16 years
- had a heart attack at 52 (1996) and a
triple by-pass and decided I had to slow
down. We moved to Az in 1997 and I have
been working at the local hospital in Medical
Records for the last 13 years. Sierra Vista
is small and 30 miles from the freeway.
Way different from Southern Calif.
I am on Facebook at 1nanasue@cox.net and
would love to hear from anyone in my class.
I am especially looking to connect with
Dina Hubbell. We were great friends in
high school but lost touch after graduation.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After graduation from San Jose State I joined Signetics, one of the worlds earliest integrated circuit ("chip") manufacturers. My wife and I had three wonderful children who are now very successful in their own lives -- not to mention the four beautiful grandchildren they have given us. I enjoyed a rewarding career in engineering and management roles in semiconductors and defense microelectronics. Except for two years spent in Utah, we lived in the bay area. I lived the last 22 years of my working years in Portola Valley (in the foothills above Palo Alto). My wife, Linda and I both felt we wanted a slower pace in our retirement. So after a career of forty years I retired, and in 2006 we moved to South Lake Tahoe. After one winter of shoveling snow we decided to try the Reno area (Sparks), were I can still ski in the winter, enjoy the lakes and streams in the summer and Linda can enjoy a little more culture than we had in South Tahoe.

After graduating, I attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo on an athletic scholarship playing 4 years of football and graduating with a B.S. in Physical Education. After getting my teaching credential, I went to work in the Campbell High School District and retired after 34 years of coaching/teaching, with the last 8 years teaching Adapted Physical Education. My wife, Karen, and I have been married 27 years and live in Campbell. I have one son and a grandson that are also local.
Over the years I've been fortunate enough to enjoy activities from scuba diving to ski diving and many things in between. But now, in retirement, among my favorites are fishing, hunting, snow skiing, golfing, watching Little League baseball and Rving, along with a few other travels, even with all the aches and pains and fighting gravity.
It's been fun keeping in touch over the years with lots of old friends, all the way from kindergarten to college. It's always fun to reminisce (and lie) about the "good ol' days".

I worked at Lockheed as a stenographer
after high school graduation. I
entered college in Missouri and was
pleased to return and work at Lockheed during
summer.
My twin brother (Ken Wood) and I both
earned degrees in sacred literature in Joplin,
MO. in 1965. He has pastored a church
near Niagara Falls since July 1965 and is
still there.
I was married in Dec. 1965 to
Paul Gray who graduated in '61 from Sunnyvale
High. We moved to Missouri where he
prepared for Christian ministry and graduated
with a degree in sacred literature. We
have four children: three sons and one daughter,
and we have four grandchildren. Our
youngest son is a psychologist in Denver,
oldest son an attorney and prosecutor in eastern
Missouri. Our daughter is in health
care and the other son in manufacturing.
In 1982 I completed a degree
in Education and taught middle school math,
then elementary grades 3-5, then taught
Language Arts at the community college where
we live. I have assisted my
husband in church ministries over the last
47 years, teaching children, directing
choirs and playing piano. I have enjoyed reading,
writing, sewing, crocheting, publishing a
genealogy book and helping to raise a granddaughter.
Besides the work of Christian ministries,
we have owned two floral and greenhouse businesses.
We had a very good school at Campbell
High. I have been blessed by God throughout
my life.
