Joe Newland December 1, 1943 – March 12, 2013 Joe Newland born in San Jose December 1, 1943 passed away in his Gilroy home March 12, 2013. He owned Newline Rubber Company, Inc. located in San Martin, CA. which he started with his high school sweetheart and wife, Cherie (Day) Newland. Joe was instrumental and a major contributor to the machine design for polishing floppy disks. His aptitude for engineering and design included architecture having designed three luxury homes, one 6 classroom structure with a kitchen plus social hall for a church; 1 luxury yacht interior; multiple design assists for high-tech industries, and three RC silent flight airplanes. Joe was spirited with a creative mind, a kind, and generous heart, and a positive encouraging nature. He is dearly missed by his family and friends.
